For now, the band has released the second song from their upcoming album, and it is definitely a beautifully lyricized piece of music that is definitely a good follow for the superb “Sleeping Ute” which was the first song from Shields that was released from the band,  an exercise in sonority with its vast array of beautiful percussion that was perfectly comprised. “Sleeping Ute” is definitely haunting but beautiful, and it put a perfect foil on the second song, which is known as “Yet again”. You would find a number of different generic influences in their fourth studio album. Fans would want them to have a great album download like their last one, Veckatimest, which made quite a few top charts.

 • Adelma – 1:02
 • Yet Again – 5:18

The xx: Crucial – Mediafire leak

The return of The XX, their second album Crucial has leaked on Mediafire, as a torrent and as a Rapidshare link. Are indie fans going for the download leak or are they holding out for the retail release?

There’s much hype surrounding the sophomore release from the band, which is set for a September release on Young Turks. And while we got a test in form of the Angels single and video a while back, The xx is definitely an album-type band which deserves a full length release before they are judge.

Below you’ll get a link to the 320kbit/s MP3 release, which holds the 11 songs. It’s suppose to be an advance album rip, probably a promotional copy which Young turks has been sending to journalists and radio.

Animal Collective: Centipede Hz download

Indie Alternative masterminds – Animal Collective’s upcoming album Centipede Hz leaked out early on Mediafire.

Animal Collective has had their new and exciting album; Centipede Hz leaked out as an MP3 download, way ahead of its September 4th release date. If you had to describe this band’s sound, it would be a difficult task to do. They have an uncategorized and unique sound that their fans have grown to love and want more of as well. The Centipede Hz album contains eleven new songs for their fans. Many fans are eagerly waiting to hear Josh Dibb take lead on one of the songs. Band member Lenox is on lead vocal on two songs and then Porter sings the others.

Having Dibb taking the lead vocal is a rare and special treat! Dibb returned to the group recently after a few years’ hiatus. Fans are very happy about his return. The new album will contain songs such as Mercury Man, Father Time, and Amanita. Fans can already pre-order this music on different musical websites. And you can read an interview with the band about the new album by Pitchfork.

The band decided now that the four of them were reunited they would take a step out into a more live setting for the new album. Each song they put on the album is a piece of the puzzle, the whole album creates a nice completed piece of genius. They are highly anticipating the fans to be very psyched about the new material. The band said that some of their influences for the new album were to create more upbeat and less calming musical spacey type listening.
No worries, Pitchfork will love the album
Ben Allen is producing the New Centipede Hz album; he has worked with the band in the past on the Merriweather CD. The band’s goal is to eventually to be able to produce and market their own music. They choose the Centipede name because the insect has multiple legs and they continually move about to get it to the desired location. They applied this to their music as a free flowing joined team working toward the same goal.

This group of four friends that grew up together playing music and hanging out has become some very new contenders in the music world today. Animal Collective has set themselves apart from other bands that tend to sound alike; the experimental band idea has definitely paid off for this group of talented and professional musicians.

The Walkmen: Heaven download

Finally, the new album by The Walkmen has leaked as an album download! Heaven might be one of the best indie albums of 2012.

The Walkmen is an indie rock band from America. The band started its journey during the early months of 2000. The Walkmen started off as a five piece band with members hailing from the Jonathan Fire*Eater Band that included Matt Barrick on drums, Walter Martin on bass/organ and Paul Maroon on piano and guitar and the Recoys band players comprising of Hamilton Leithauser who is the lead vocalist, guitar player and Peter Baurer who plays the bass/organ for The Walkmen.
Heaven leaked out from the label as a promo copy and is now uploaded to Mediafire and Deposit files as a RAR file album download
The Walkmen launched their first album “Everyone Who Pretended to Like Le is Gone” in 2002. The album was considered as an innovative approach towards instrumentation and atmosphere. The members of The Walkmen sing about reality and experience of life, underlining real emotion and real people. The band has been earning a lot of credibility among listeners and indie music lovers for years. Each member of The Walkmen band have been in and around Washington DC, and have also been a part of various bands, before forming The Walkmen, which adds an extra advantage of experience amongst band members.

After ten years of playing collectively as a band, The Walkmen, have come up with a new album called Heaven, which is set to be released on June 5, 2012. The album Heaven consists of six-full-length songs recorded by The Walkmen band and one additional cover track from Harry Nilsson’s 1974 album called Pussy Cats.

Phil Ek from Seattle have produced the album Heaven and the album includes a concise visitor spot by Fleet Foxes front man Robin Pecknold. Nevertheless, when one listens to the album’s title track that was recently launched, there is an apparent clue of the same old-scrappy-feel of the Walkmen band presented in it. Fans have even hailed the track to be rougher around the edges.

Enjoy the new Walkmen album download guys!

TV On The Radio: Young Liars | Review

Artist: TV On The Radio
Album: Young Liars
Year: 2003
Genre: Indie Rock

Haven’t been listening to too much “Indie Rock/Pop” music lately and it’s simply because nothing’s really been tickling my fancy. I went into this record excited to listen to it for multiple reasons:

 • 1. It was released on Touch & Go Records, a record company that I can usually trust.
 • 2. It’s an earlier TVotR release; from what I’ve heard (Return to Cookie Mountain, Dear Science, half of Nine Types of Light), I’m pretty sure I like the band’s earlier output more than their latter.
 • 3. It got rated well on allmusic and pitchfork. Yeah yeah make fun of me but an 8.9 from Pitchfork circa 2003 (and for an EP!) usually means I’ll like it.
 • 4. It has a Pixies cover.

So after listening to it a few times, I can confidently say that it is indeed an extremely solid EP. For five songs, it kept me interested for all of its 25 minutes. Not much to say about it except that it’s incredibly consistent and has a very cool-yet-not-cocky demeanor. The first track Satellite is a clear example of this – the pulsating bass chugging along with the drums (and soon thereafter the heavily reverbed guitar and flute) allow for an awesome backdrop for Tunde’s vocal, which are always on point. The mixing on the song is fantastic and I really love the quiet, crackling guitar solo-ish 2/3 into the song that shows up in the right monitor. Staring at the Sun is a classic and is better than the LP version in my opinion. The wall of sound in the second half of Young Liars is nice and Blind is simply a great song. The doo wop version of Mr. Grieves is cool and really pleasant though I probably won’t ever listen to it more than a few times. In general, I’m not too big on this type of music at the moment but it was definitely a nice listen. 7/10

Rating or Recommendation: If you like TVotR or Indie Rock with soulful melodies, just check it out. It’s only 25 minutes anyway.

Letting Up Despite Great Faults: Self-titled | Review

Artist: Letting Up Despite Great Faults
Album: Letting Up Despite Great Faults
Year: 2009
Genre: indie, synth.pop, shoegaze, dance, dream.pop

I’m ashamed of myself, I don’t think I’ve given this a fair enough listen.. even though it’s gotten plenty of “plays”, it’s only really got one real listen. I just haven’t had the time to sit down and critically listen to this album a good 2-3 times, 2 or 3 times that it deserves. I’m listening again now as I write this review, albeit not critically! However, as you can probably ascertain from my listening notes this album was love at first listen for me, and as such it’s been on heavy rotation both in my car and it pops up in my playlist every now and then at work.

Letting Up Despite Great Faults is an album that has been on heavy rotation for the past 7 days, and will continue to be played over and over for me. I love the summer feel that is has, and a really “dreamy” sound that is just gorgeous..

LUDGF seem to be quite influenced by M83 and sounds a bit like The Postal Service too – but then on the other hand they have their own style in it’s entirety, it’s hard to put my finger on it exactly – let’s just call it “delicious”.

All in all, this was is a stellar album and on each listen I discover even more things that I like about it.. I just wish it lasted longer, it feels just that bit too short! My sincere apologies if this review seems rushed, well because.. it was rushed! But hopefully you share the same thoughts as me on this album. One day i will get around to listening to it a couple more times critically and will shoot you off a proper review then!

Rating: 9/10

Dead Man’s Bones: Self titled | Review

Dead Man’s Bones – Dead Man’s Bones
indie, soundtrack

To be honest, I saw a lone indie tag and didn’t expect much. I was so wrong. This album has some of the best musical “character” I have heard. It was intended as the soundtrack to a play about werewolves, zombies and other such creatures, although the play aspect wasn’t completed. It covers a bunch of older music styles (think 50s-60s), and it could easily pass as music from those times except for the occasional modern touches. The childrens’ choir is a major component of the album and it gives the music much of the character.

The self-imposed recording constraint of having no more than 3 takes per song has worked really well – I get the organic feeling, but I don’t notice mistakes in playing as such. There’s a mild cheesiness, which is done so well that it becomes charming. Given the subject matter, it could have turned out much worse, especially comparing to Twilight and the similar modern trends. The subject matter itself doesn’t really take that much focus.

The only let down, if any, is that it takes a while to get started. The first 2 tracks don’t seem to do much at all. Everything afterwards is excellent. I can’t pick a favourite track, but I’d recommend Pa Pa Power for the safe option, Lose Your Soul for the dark side, and My Body’s A Zombie For You for the theater fans.

For the sake of making a comparison, try and imagine a more depressive, yet more hopeful version of Arcade Fire. Very highly recommended to anyone who reads this.
Thanks Jusper, I’ll be enjoying this for a long time to come.
